Case Studies
AI results at enterprise scale
AI delivers value when it proves itself inside real operations. The case studies below show how Huron helps organizations apply AI in the work that runs the business, validate results in production, and then scale what works across teams, systems, and geographies. Each example begins with a specific operational challenge, demonstrates how AI improved performance where the work happens, and shows how those gains were expanded to deliver sustained operational and commercial impact.
This is how AI earns the right to scale.
CASE STUDY
Driving finance transformation at Grab with applied AI
As Grab scaled rapidly across markets, its finance organization faced growing complexity across order to cash, procure to pay, and record to report. Huron partnered with Grab's finance leadership to embed AI directly into these end-to-end processes, modernizing workflows, reducing manual effort, and improving the quality and timeliness of financial insight. By working alongside teams from design through execution, AI-enabled workflows were operationalized, adopted, and scaled across functions and markets. The result was a more resilient and efficient finance function, increased capacity for analysis and business partnering, and stronger financial control and decision support across the enterprise.
Watch the video to learn how Grab operationalized AI across finance to scale performance and impact.

Unlocking Restricted Funds to Drive Institutional Priorities
The Issue
A leading research institution faced short-term liquidity needs while managing a complex portfolio of restricted and committed funds. Limited visibility into donor restrictions, gift documentation, and decision authority made it difficult to identify deployable balances quickly, even as near-term funding pressures increased.
Our Solution
Huron applied an AI-enabled funds management approach to analyze gift agreements and restrictions at scale, reviewing more than 800 endowment funds within an eight-week period. The effort brought Finance, Advancement, General Counsel, and Board leadership together around a shared view of donor intent, allowable uses, and governance, while establishing a more disciplined, repeatable approach to funds management.
The Outcomes
The university approved more than $20 million to support immediate funding needs and deployed more than $5 million in current-use restricted funds to improve liquidity without compromising donor intent. The institution addressed near-term financial pressures while putting policies, processes, and governance in place to support sustained, strategic funds management going forward.

Scaling Global Sustainability for Enterprise Decision-Making
The Issue
A global technology organization struggled to manage electricity and water data arriving in hundreds of formats, languages, and quality levels across a rapidly expanding footprint. Manual data collection and reconciliation scaled linearly with each new site, increasing delays, errors, and audit risk while limiting the sustainability team’s ability to focus on performance improvement.
Our Solution
Huron applied AI at the point of data ingestion to understand, extract, and standardize highly variable utility data across sites and providers. The solution normalized data into a controlled, repeatable structure and flagged uncertainty for targeted human review, stabilizing processing time per site as the organization scaled.
The Outcomes
More than 90% of sustainability data was validated in-period, with 100% of reported figures traceable to source evidence. Sustainability data collection scaled across 160+ sites without added headcount, accelerating reporting cycles and enabling teams to shift focus from reconciliation to driving sustainability performance.
